About Board Members
On 27 Shawwal 1442 AH, a Royal Order was issued establishing the Board of Directors of the Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia. The Board operates in accordance with the Club’s Regulation, issued pursuant to Council of Ministers Resolution No. 18 dated 6 Muharram 1442 AH, which sets out the framework governing the Board’s composition, term of membership and responsibilities.
The Board is chaired by a Chairman appointed by order of the Prime Minister. Its members, together with the government entities represented on the Board, are appointed by order of the Prime Minister upon the recommendation of the Chairman. Members serve a three-year term, renewable once.
The Board is responsible for overseeing the Club’s affairs and managing its business, approving its general policies, plans, programmes, projects and governing regulations, as well as its budget, investments, agreements and contracts. It also takes the decisions required to achieve the Club’s objectives and fulfil its mandate.
